Latest News

We recently employed single-cell transcriptomics and epigenomics to examine the onset of memory in CD4+ T cells during experimental malaria.  This work can be viewed as a pre-print (not yet peer-reviewed) here: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/675967v1), with a graphical user interface at https://malariaimmunology.shinyapps.io/cd4_dynamics/

Research Activities

We have two main areas of interest:1) We are interested in how T cells respond during various clinically relevant scenarios, including but not limited to infection with malaria-causing Plasmodium parasites.
2) We are interested in how Plasmodium parasites sense and respond to the host during infection.

Techniques/Expertise

We have a focus on using single-cell genomics techniques and computational methods for studying immune cells as well as malaria parasites.
